Day 2 - Game 6
Our final game was against Islev BK, a
Danish team. We topped the group on goal difference and so knew that all we had
to do was win, and match the goals scored on the other pitch. We did our bit as
Lore got 5, Callum 2 and Ben and Sam K with one each. Unfortunately on the other
pitch I saw the most disgraceful performance that I have ever witnessed on a
football pitch as Voorschoten rolled over and at times quite literally laid down
in front of Husum and let them score 14 goals! We will be writing to the Dutch
club, the tournament organisers and the Dutch FA, however third place is a
bitter pill when you are cheated out of a place in a final.
